So yesterday I went my mate Leah’s 16th. It was at the bay, Henley square to be more specific. Leah is going to different school next year, so it was great to see her again before school starts.
I wore 3/4 jeans, which ended up being a good idea, because it got pretty cold. I also wore platform heels and didn’t bring my swimming gear which was rather stupid. I was pretty slow at first, but I think that was because most people were swimming and I was stuck on the beach, but I did get to talk to friends I hadn’t seen all holidays, so it wasn’t too bad. On the plus side, we played a surprising fun game of volleyball. The weird thing is, I was kicking ass! I was really surprised with myself, because normally I hate volleyball and it hates me. But today I was playing like a pro! Why couldn’t I’ve played like that in P.E.?
Simone and Elle, my two best friends, rocked up an hour late for various reasons. When they finally did arrive, they made quite an entrance. Simone was wearing a really nice dress, which was weird. Don’t get me wrong, i think she looked amazing (damn her and her tan!) it was just out of character for her. Elle wore a dress also, that looked awesome as well, I really liked it. The only thing was, it’s a white summer dress type thing, with really thin fabric, so you could see her black undies really clearly. They both didn’t wear shorts under, which I still don’t understand. I mean if I don’t have shorts under my skirt/dress I feel exposed, and you can’t do half the stuff you can do in pants otherwise. Ah well. I think that’s enough fashion word-vomit for one day.
After a couple of hours at the beach, we all packed up and headed to an oval across the road from Leah’s house. There was hot food as well as dip, so I was content. They had these spinach and feta puff things, which were, dare I say, orgasmic. I think I ate about 4. In my defence, they were bite size. During my food-frenzy I was sitting with Aleck, Elle, Simone, Jess and Kelly. We didn’t really talk about anything interesting, not that I was contributing. Eating comes first
We all played a bit of soccer as well, that’s always fun. Somehow I always end up being the one in the middle. I got to know Will, who was new at Urrbrae, as I never really got to meet him last year. He seemed pretty nice, but that’s just a first impression. I don’t mean to seem cynical, its just that Simone reckons he’s a bit of a dickhead, so I’m yet to make up my mind for now.
As per usual Callum is off with some girl right about now, this time round it was Emma McLean. I personally don’t really like her that much, but that’s a different story. I’m pretty sure Emma has a boyfriend too… or three… I’ve given up trying to keep track.
Then came the cake, the singing, the usual. Did I ever mention how much I love chocolate cake?
Right about now its started to get dark. Everyone was settled down in groups discussing whatever. I was talking to Roshier, Emily, Kat, Elidh, Mysco and Will. For one reason or another, the conversation took an interesting turn. Sparing you the rather disturbing details, there was a battle of wills declared between Roshier and Elidh, with the competition to take place at Philbeys party. I’m rather interested to see who will back out first.
So as this was all unfolding, our group ended up migrating to the toilets because water was required. They are located only about 20m away from where everyone else was, obscured slightly by another small building. Of coarse this was to far away for Simone, who gave me a lecture for walking off. It wasn’t like I was going back to the beach or anything, it was the bloody toilets! It’s kinda embarrassing really, she acts like she’s my mother sometimes. And she calls me bossy! Oh well, not much I can do about it right? Just one of those things.
In the end, I really enjoyed it. I’m going to miss Leah next year, I wish her all the best at her new school.
Love Adi
